Beginning
If, having read this far, you are considering whether Invaris LLC is the right practice for your family, this page describes what happens next and answers the questions we are most often asked.
The first contact
You reach us by email or through the contact form on this page. We reply within two business days. Initial contact is confidential regardless of whether an engagement follows.
We ask, in our first exchange, for a brief sketch of your situation: the countries involved, the composition of your family, the approximate timing of the move, and what has prompted you to consider engaging a consultancy at this point. This is not a form to be filled out. It is the beginning of a conversation.
The exploratory conversation
Before any engagement is proposed, we offer a ninety-minute exploratory conversation. Its purpose is to allow both sides to understand whether the work we do is the work you need. Not every family who contacts us should engage us, and we prefer to say so at the start.
There is no charge for this conversation, and no obligation on either side following it.

What people usually ask
If we proceed
We send a written engagement letter describing scope, horizons of work, fee arrangement, and confidentiality terms. Nothing is billed before this is signed.
Fees
Structured on a retainer basis, sized to scope and intensity. We do not charge by the hour — hourly billing rewards inefficiency in work whose value comes from judgment. No referral fees, ever.
Confidentiality
Mutual confidentiality that survives the engagement itself. We do not discuss clients with other clients, publish names, or use testimonials.
If it's not the right fit
Either side can end an engagement at any time, with written notice. Where possible, we introduce a practice we think is a better fit — we don't consider that a failure.
Working with existing advisors
We work alongside lawyers, tax advisors, and accountants you already trust. We ensure they're coordinated and that the whole picture is held somewhere — usually with us.
Timing
Most families engage us six to eighteen months before a move, or six months to two years after arriving — but we're direct about where in the arc we can add the most value for you.
Languages
All work is conducted in English or German, at your preference, switching between them for different meetings and documents as needed. Written materials can be produced in either language or in parallel.

Where we are
Invaris LLC is a private consulting practice. Our engagements are conducted through a combination of in-person meetings, video conferences, and written work, structured around what is most useful for each family. We travel to clients where the work requires it.
