1. Scope of these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of this website (invarisllc.com), operated by Invaris LLC. They are separate from, and do not replace, the written engagement letter that governs any actual client relationship — see How client engagements work below.

2. General information, not advice

The content of this website — including the pages on our approach and method — is general information about how we think about international relocation. It is not legal, tax, immigration, financial, or psychological advice, and no attorney-client, advisor-client, or therapist-client relationship is created by browsing this site or submitting the contact form.

Invaris LLC is not a law firm, tax advisory firm, financial services firm, or therapy practice. We work alongside independently licensed professionals and require every client to retain competent, appropriately licensed counsel in each relevant jurisdiction — see our How We Work page.

3. How client engagements work

This section is a plain-language summary; where it conflicts with a signed engagement letter, the engagement letter governs.

  • No obligation before signing. The initial contact and the ninety-minute exploratory conversation are free of charge and without obligation on either side. Nothing is billed before a written engagement letter is signed.
  • Retainer-based fees. We charge a retainer sized to the scope and intensity of the engagement, not by the hour, and we do not accept referral fees or commissions from any professional or institution we recommend.
  • Confidentiality. Every engagement is bound by mutual confidentiality that survives the engagement itself. Written materials produced during an engagement are the property of the family. See our Privacy Policy for how personal data specifically is handled.
  • Coordination, not replacement. We coordinate with your independent legal, tax, and financial advisors only with your explicit authorisation, and only to the extent necessary.
  • Termination. Either side may end an engagement at any time, with written notice. On termination, we return or destroy engagement materials as you direct, and confidentiality continues to apply.

4. Intellectual property

The text, illustrations, and design of this website are the property of Invaris LLC unless otherwise indicated, and may not be copied, reproduced, or redistributed without prior written permission.

5. Liability

We take care to keep this website accurate, but cross-border tax, immigration, and legal rules change quickly, and we make no warranty that content is current, complete, or applicable to your specific situation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Invaris LLC is not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of this website's general content, as distinct from advice given within a signed client engagement.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes arising from a specific client engagement are governed by the terms of that engagement letter.

8. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Continued use of the website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
